Shots fired at college near Houston; 3 hurt
1/22/2013Two people exchanged gunfire Tuesday at a Texas college near Houston, and at least three people were wounded, authorities said. "At first glance, (the shooting) appears to be between two individuals," a spokesman for the Lone Star College system told CNN. Maj. Armando Tello of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said a total of three people were confirmed injured and one "person of interest" was detained. "There were two students we believe were shot in the crossfire," the school spokesman said. He said he didn't know their conditions. KPRC-TV reported that a fourth person suffered a possible heart attack during the chaos. One shooter was in custody; the other fled campus, and officers were scouring the area for him, the school spokesman said. "Police believe the danger has been mitigated. The school is under control," though evacuations continued, he told CNN. The campus is one of six that makes up the Lone Star community college system. [Source]
