Lou Gehrig quip in 'Ted' draws heat from actual sick people
7/5/2012The wince-inducing line goes like this: "From one man to another, I hope you get Lou Gehrig's disease." This outrageous remark, delivered by Mark Wahlberg's character, John, to his teddy-bear buddy in the hit movie "Ted," has, unsurprisingly, deeply offended ALS patients and advocacy groups. ALS is no laughing matter, and today, on the 73rd anniversary of Gehrig's famous farewell speech, let's hope a cure will eventually be found.
Are you shocked that line didn't get cut from 'Ted'?
