Lucky Japanese get to drink Salty Watermelon Pepsi
5/29/2012Either Pepsi has its own Ron Ben-Israel acolyte lurking in its flavor lab or it's just tuning in to some very distinct Asian flavors to excite Japanese taste buds. Salty Watermelon Pepsi will be hitting Japanese shelves on July 24 for a limited time only, and trend-watchers are already predicting it will outshine the soda giant's past dud, Ice Cucumber Pepsi. Folks on Twitter seem genuinely excited about the new flavor's debut, but customs officials may be in for some tasty surprises with all the Twitter requests for Salty Watermelon Pepsi, including one from @SweetAl: "If any of my friends in Japan are planning to swing thru SF this summer, hook me up with some Salty Watermelon Pepsi."
What other funky taste combinations should soda companies create?
