Lucky lady wins $63K on improbable 10-cent horse bet
4/30/2012Lucky Julia Kring dropped a dime and now she's $63,000 richer. The 72-year-old Kentucky resident put 10 cents on the Solo Pick 6 at New Mexico's Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino online -- and she's now rolling in dough after hitting the winner in all six races. Kring told the El Paso Times that racing is her passion, but the unbelievable bet was "all luck." Kring will take home just over $47,000 after taxes, some of which she'll put back into Sunland's coffers. "I'll have to try the horses there again; it provided me some good fortune," she said. We think that's an amazing understatement for an amazing bet.
