3-year-old with spina bifida endures ridiculous TSA screening

2/21/2013

Because there's nothing more threatening than a disabled tot in a hot-pink wheelchair and Velcro sneakers, TSA agents singled out 3-year-old Lucy, who has spina bifida, for extra screening at Lambert-St. Louis Airport in Missouri. Irritated parents Nathan and Annie Forck kept the camera rolling, despite agents insisting filming was illegal. OK, maybe searching a wheelchair is standard, but they'd already passed through security and were on their way to the gate. "They specifically told me that they were singling her out ... because she's in a wheelchair," said Nathan. "It's rather offensive to me as a father of a disabled child." The TSA has apologized, but we doubt Lucy's forgiven them for taking away her beloved stuffed "Lamby." [Source]
