Arctic drilling arrest ends in community service for Lucy Lawless
2/7/2013Xena the Warrior Princess is not standing down. Actress Lucy Lawless was arrested in June 2012 along with six other protestors after they climbed aboard a Shell oil drilling ship headed to the Arctic. Lawless plead guilty to the trespassing charge and faced three years in jail. Her sentence has just come through, and Lawless is only on the hook for 120 hours of community service and a fine of about $550. No need for Gabrielle to mount a rescue, then. "This chapter has ended, but the story of the battle to save the Arctic has just begun," Lawless said. [Source]
