Macy's parade confetti includes poorly shredded police documents11/26/2012
Remember years ago when you had to gently explain to grandma that if she insisted on shredding her old checks, she needed trash that $10 horizontal shredder she bought at Staples and invest in a cross-cut shredder? Well, the guys at the Nassau County Police Department apparently need the same guidance. It's been revealed that some of the confetti tossed on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade were horizontal strips of still-readable confidential documents, including names, address, social security numbers and incident reports. A representative announced they were "very concerned about this situation," presumably just before running off to check whether they'd been victim to identify theft. [Source]
