Madonna kicks off world tour with plea for world peace

Madonna clearly has loftier ambitions than just being the Queen of Pop -- or maybe she's practicing for the next Miss World contest. Either way, the singer kicked off her MDNA world tour in Tel Aviv, Israel, last night by pleading for world peace, starting in the Middle East. "I know everyone here tonight can't be a fan of mine and not want peace in the world," she said, adding no matter what our religion, orientation or race we are "all sons and daughters of the universe" and if we treat each other with dignity and respect "we're on the road to peace." Well said, although we can't help wondering how that jives with her recent dig at Lady Gaga.
