Pakistani president visits teen shot by Taliban, praises her bravery12/9/2012
Malala Yousafzai, a 15-year-old Pakistani activist, survived a shot to the head Oct. 9 from the Taliban after she promoted secular education for girls. Airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in England, where she is now recovering far from home, she received a distinguished visitor: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. Zardari met with doctors, spoke with her family and visited the young girl herself to praise her bravery and convey Pakistan's prayers for her recovery. He then continued to Paris where the "Stand Up for Malala: Girls' right to education" UNESCO event is being held in her honor Dec. 10. [Source]
