87-year-old busted for growing more than 400 pot plants
8/7/2012Edward Bogunovich has a green thumb. The 87-year-old Denver man’s backyard is proof of his talents, so much so that it’s starting to attract attention. Unfortunately for Bogunovich, it’s the police who are most interested in his cultivating talents, probably due to the more than 400 pot plants he was growing in his Garden of Ganja. Police arrested Bogunovich, dubious of medical marijuana permits allowing him and two other men to grow 231 plants. Besides, police said Bogunovich had exceeded his limit by 183 plants, and seized about 461 pounds of weed. As defense, Bogunovich offered the ol’ 'those pot plants in my backyard are not mine' alibi.
