Man cheers up neighborhood with crazy polka dot house

5/3/2012

Is Jimmy Deitz's wacky polka dot house in Grand Forks, N.D. awesome or an eyesore? The answer probably depends on who's looking at it. Obviously, Deitz is in favor of it, but whether neighbors would agree is a different matter. Deitz doesn't actually live in the eye-catching home -- he rents it out while staying nearby, but he's now considering selling it for $150,000. He chose the polka dots colors based on suggestions called out from friends as he was working -- and he says he's free to do so as there's no city law against unconventional paint patterns. And the best bit of the crazy color scheme? He jokes, "Pizza delivery drivers won't have any trouble finding this place!"
