Man jailed for crime dead twin brother committed
5/10/2012A man was arrested and imprisoned for 36 hours for a crime his deceased twin brother was charged with. Yes, it sounds like a twin-switch plot from a sitcom, but for one Mitch Torbett hilarity did not ensue. When Torbett went to apply for a Tennesssee construction permit, a federal warrant popped up and he found himself in jail, awaiting extradition by the FBI to Louisiana, where his twin Mike allegedly got into some big trouble before he passed away. Luckily a comparison of fingerprints cleared Mitch, but not before experiencing sufficient emotional pain to start preparing a civil suit against local police for false imprisonment.
Should this wronged twin drop the suit and start shopping the movie rights?
