Man gets hard time for refusing to leave jail

7/26/2012

Sometimes you CAN get what you want. Just ask Rodney Dwayne Valentine. The 37-year-old stewed for a couple of months in the Rockingham County, N.C., jail before he was released on Saturday morning. But he didn't feel like walking to a local motel, and the sheriff's deputies refused to drive him. So when he failed to leave the clink in the afternoon, officials decided to make him feel more welcome. They charged him with trespassing, and he's now being held on a $500 bond. Valentine has a hearing scheduled for Aug. 9, by which time we hope he'll have looked up some local bus timetables. [Source]
