Man resorts to drinking urine after being forgotten in jail

5/2/2012

A UC San Diego student, who was allegedly left and forgotten in a Drug Enforcement Administration holding cell for nearly five days, says he tried to kill himself by breaking the glass from his spectacles and attempting to carve "Sorry mom" on his arm. Daniel Chong, 23, also says he was forced to drink his own urine to stay alive. "They never came back, ignored all my cries," said Chong, who was celebrating 4/20 at a friend's house when DEA agents raided the place. He was taken to a DEA office, questioned and told he could leave. Instead, Chong said, he was incarcerated. The DEA says it's investigating the incident.
