Man says he 'wasn't Christian enough' to get hired, sues
6/18/2012The Bible says the word of God may be a lamp to believers' feet, and Voss Lighting could probably sell the replacement bulbs. The hyper-religious business (complete with "Biblical Mission Statement") has been sued by an Oklahoma man who says that he was denied a job because he "wasn't Christian enough." Edward Wolfe says his first interview at the Nebraska company went well, but then he was asked "where and when [he] was 'saved,'" told that employees should be "born again" and asked whether he'd attend an unpaid morning Bible study. Wolfe said parental responsibilities kept him from attending church; subsequently, he wasn't hired. Voss denies Wolfe's allegations that he was turned away for his religious beliefs.
