Accused snake thief leaves damning evidence behind: his son
2/6/2013Important tip: If you commit a crime, don't leave anything containing your DNA at the crime scene. Like a strand of hair, or a spot of blood — or your child. Wisconsin police have accused a man of stealing a snake from the Great Lakes Pet Expo on Saturday night and leaving his son behind. Cindy Steinle, who runs the reptile exhibit, said a volunteer gave the child a corn snake worth a mere $40 to hold. The kid (whose age wasn't revealed) handed the snake to his dad, who allegedly slipped it into an empty pillowcase and disappeared. Police quickly tracked the man down, and Child Services reunited the boy with his mom. [Source]
