Man sues docs after post-op infection costs him his penis
5/18/2012Enrique Milla got the short end of the stick. The 65-year-old man elected to have a penile implant in 2007 to treat his erectile dysfunction, but a post-operative infection led to gangrene, and doctors had to amputate his penis. Now, Milla (who lived in Miami for 40 years but has since reportedly been deported to his native Peru) is suing the doctors who performed the operation. Milla says the procedure "robbed him of his dignity and manhood." The defendants claim the infection, which occurred two weeks after the surgery, was the fault of the patient; a lawyer for one of the doctors implied Milla "ignored medical instructions to avoid sex and developed a fecal infection."
