Man sues movie theater over 'excessive' snack prices
3/5/2012Overpaying for snacks at the movies is an American tradition, but a Livonia, Mich. man has had enough. Joshua Thompson filed a class-action suit against his local AMC movie theater after he spent $8 on a Coke and Goobers, the Detroit Free Press reports. Thompson's suit alleges that the "excessive prices" violate the state's Consumer Protection Act, but Michigan residents shouldn't expect cheaper movie theater grub any time soon. Experts tell the Freep that the suit is very unlikely to be successful.
