For five years, Joe Shead has been keeping Austin weird by strolling around his neighborhood in just shoes, socks, and a string thong. It’s legal and hey, no tan lines, but some of the Texas man’s neighbors have to ask themselves (and sometimes him), “Why?” He’s been detained more than 30 times after alarmed bystanders call police on him, but as he’s technically clothed has never been arrested.
