Study confirms managers more likely to hire hotties than notties
11/30/2012A survey has confirmed the long-held suspicion that a cute face, kickin' bod and charming way are just as important as skills and qualifications when it comes to landing a job. A study based on interviews with 120 hiring managers found that employers "hire in a manner more closely resembling the choice of friends or romantic partners," said sociologist Dr. Lauren Rivera of Northwestern University. While Dr. Rivera points out that a candidate's experience must be adequate to get an interview (particularly for important things like brain surgery), ultimately it's a candidate's personal attributes and "cultural fit" that will win them the position.
