Woman with giant 238-lb. leg stars in documentary about her treatment
2/14/2013A British woman with a 238-pound leg abnormality will be featured in a documentary because of course there needs to be a documentary about a woman with a shockingly large leg. That said, Mandy Sellars' condition, apparently due to Proteus syndrome — a congenital condition that causes skin overgrowth and abnormal bone growth — is no joke. Her left leg was amputated in 2010 after an infection made it swell up to 70 pounds. Now that her right leg and foot have grown heavier than the weight of an average adult male, she’s desperately seeking medical assistance, which will all be capturing in the TV show airing in Britain on Monday.
