Your snarky Urban Outfitters shirt might have bedbugs
7/31/2012Got an itch to scratch? If you’ve recently visited an Urban Outfitters store in New York, your tactless punning T-shirt could be crawling with bedbugs. According to Jezebel, for several months, employees of the company’s store in Manhattan’s Flatiron District have complained about a bedbug infestation. In March, a customer spotted a bedbug on the floor. The following month, an employee got an outbreak at home, and in June and July, numerous employees got bites. Allegedly, after confirming the presence of the bugs, Jezebel's tipster says the store half-assedly fumigated (though not in public areas) and tossed old furniture, but did not close down for a thorough treatment for fear of losing business. Jezebel says a store representative could neither confirm nor deny an outbreak of bugs. [Source]
