Fans dislike Manti Te'o as much as they hate Lance Armstrong
2/9/2013Call Manti Te'o the Rookie of the Year in the Hate League. Sure, the Notre Dame linebacker was the victim in the made-up-girlfriend hoax and was something of an inspirational figure before those 15 minutes of infamy. But he's already Lance Armstrong's equal on a list of least-liked athletes as determined by a Nielsen/E-Poll survey. Nielsen executive Stephen Master said Te'o's story "was just so creepy" and that sticking with the dead-girlfriend angle even after he knew the truth zoomed him right to the top of the reviled rankings. Good to know there's still such a thing as an overnight sensation. [Source]
