This is why we keep telling you not to text near those 60-foot cliffs
9/27/2012An Alaska woman is recovering from injuries she sustained after falling nearly 60 feet off a cliff in the town of Kodiak because she was texting. Officials said Maria Pestrikoff Bennett slipped and fell because she was trying to send a message on her phone while tossing a cigarette over the cliff. Even though she survived, emergency responders had a difficult time rescuing her, given the precarious location of the accident and a rising tide that was only 10 feet away from where she landed. She's currently getting treatment at an Anchorage hospital — and probably taking a break from sending texts for a while. [Source]
