Some marijuana cases dropped now that the drug is legal in Washington
11/11/2012Rejoice, stoners. It’s not just future growers celebrating Washington State's new law decriminalizing small amounts of recreational marijuana. County prosecutors have announced they will drop more than 200 misdemeanor cases of pot enthusiasts busted prior to the passing of Initiative 502. "Although the effective date of I-502 is not until Dec. 6, there is no point in continuing to seek criminal penalties for conduct that will be legal next month," King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg said in a statement. Note to future criminals: if you're going to break the law, try to do it in a state that's considering changing the law. [Source]

Should these old cases have been dropped now that pot is going to be legal?
