'Storage Wars' star reportedly commits suicide a day after drug arrest

2/12/2013

Mark Balelo, one of the regular cast members on "Storage Wars," was arrested for possession of methamphetamine on Saturday. On Sunday, he committed suicide at his Simi Valley, Calif., office, sources have told TMZ. Balelo was jokingly referred to as "Rico Suave" during episodes of the A&E reality show because of his flashy wardrobe and ever-present "man purse." When Balelo wasn’t sifting through the contents of storage units, he ran Balelo, Inc., described as a "wholesale liquidator" that sold merchandise to clients worldwide. Despite the 40-year-old's television appearances, he is perhaps best known for returning a stolen copy of the first-ever Superman comic to its rightful owner, Nicolas Cage. Balelo had discovered the $1 million Action Comics issue in — of course — a storage unit he'd purchased. [Source]
