Man sucked into 18-foot-deep sinkhole while playing golf is OK

Hold your "sinkhole in one" jokes, please. Avid golfer Mark Mihal is nursing a dislocated shoulder after suddenly falling through a sinkhole that was 18 feet deep and 10 feet wide near the 14th hole at the Annbriar Golf Course in Illinois. “I was standing in the middle of the fairway. Then, all of a sudden, before I knew it, I was underground,” the 43-year-old mortgage broker says. A rope and ladder were fetched, and Mihal was pulled to safety. He says he kept thinking of that guy who recently disappeared into a giant sinkhole in Florida. Still, Mihal insists the freaky fall won't keep him from playing golf.
