Marlee Matlin slams Saturday Night Live for being hysterically funny
11/5/2012Here's a celebrity fight we didn't see coming: deaf actress Marlee Matlin has slammed Saturday Night Live for their sketch that sent up Lydia Callis, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg's memeworthy sign-language interpreter. Matlin thought that Cicely Strong's (honestly hilarious) version of Callis should've used real sign language instead of "fake signs," forgetting the fact that, um, that wouldn't have been funny. "This stuff is just dumb," Matlin said. But if the SNL cast wants to learn sign language for future sketches, Matlin did tweet a plug for her own iPhone app. [Source]
