Giant shark spotted vacationing near the Hamptons

1/31/2013

There's never been a better time to not go in the water, with sightings of an enormous great white shark off the Hamptons, N.Y. Mary Lee, as she's known to trackers, is 16 feet long and weighs 3,456 pounds. The awesome fish, despite being easily able to chomp down people like they're Cheetos, is not considered a threat at this time. She's been happily cruising up and down the coast as far south as Florida without incident since she was first tagged at Cape Cod, Mass., in September. Today's she's licking her lips about 45 nautical miles off the coast of Mantauk Point. Dah-dum. Dah-dum. [Source]
