Cop gets sideswiped by speeding semi in scary dash-cam video

If your jaw hasn't dropped yet today, check out this dash-cam video of Maryland state police trooper David Avila, who was clipped by a tractor-trailer back in June during a routine traffic stop. The distressing footage released yesterday shows how close Avila came to death when the multi-ton trailer swiped him as it barreled down Interstate 70 near Hagerstown. You can see the officer stumble and speak into his radio before collapsing in the road. Although he's now in physical therapy, it's unclear if Avila will return to work due to back injuries. The driver was fined $100, which seems pretty forgiving for nearly killing a man.[Source]
