Math can accurately predict whether celeb couple will last

The frequency of celebrity divorce was a natural mystery we were happy to ignore, but science has shoved the tools to accurately predict a celebrity couple's agonizing heartbreak into our unwilling hands. A New York Times science reporter and a statistician have developed a formula for predicting if two celebrities will divorce. You simply divide the number of times the wife is mentioned in the New York Times by the number of times she is mentioned in the National Enquirer to get the odds the marriage will last. Clearly, the more tabloid mentions, the less chance the couple has. As for why it's only the wife's press that matters, statistician Garth Sundem says, "Either the guy's powerless to predict the marriage's fate, or he's an enigma, indefinable by numbers."
