Despite the show's ratings slippage, Lauer's NBC bosses have dismissed rumors they're booting him, and current and former colleagues are defending him against allegations of diva-esque behavior. Former "Today" co-anchor Katie Couric fondly recalls how Lauer once asked hotel staff to hide his photo all over her room, including under her pillow and in the minibar.
