Councilman slammed for sending citywide alert calling his friend 'gay'3/7/2013
The citizens who signed up for alerts about the Washington, Penn., transit system probably didn't expect their first message to be "Bryan is gay." The mayor has called councilman Matt Staniszeweski "offensive and unprofessional" for adding that sentence to his first email, which should've only read "This is a test." Staniszeweski didn't deny sending the alert, but did release a statement that said "It's offensive and unprofessional for the mayor to automatically assume one definition of the word when there are multiple definitions." Even if his friend was gay-meaning-happy, he didn't need to use the city's alert system to point it out. [Source]
