Drunken driver rescued after crash leaves truck dangling from overpass
11/26/2012Matthew Hamilton's life turned upside down when he crashed his truck through a guardrail in Portland, Ore., and it's likely to stay that way. The 34-year-old driver was stranded in his vehicle for almost an hour while rescue personnel worked to stabilize the truck as it teetered dangerously from an overpass above Highway 217, its rear wheels caught on the rail. Now Hamilton's joyride really begins: He was booked into jail after recording a blood-alcohol content of .50, more than six times the legal limit, as well as for driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI. At least he'll have a story to tell about his amusing rescue, assuming he can remember it. [Source]
