Gay man proposes to his partner at the White House (he said yes)
12/17/2012The White House has witnessed what may be its first on-site same-sex marriage proposal. Photos of the moment have zipped around the Internet ever since Marine Corps Captain Matthew Phelps (on left in above photo) got down on one knee and proposed to partner Ben Schock. As Phelps posted on Reddit, "Ten years ago when I enlisted, I never would have imagined the day that I would publicly propose to a boyfriend, much less at the White House while still on active duty as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps." For the record, Schock said yes. [Source]
