12/20/2012The magic of time zones means that the most-feared date of the year has arrived in New Zealand — without incident. Dec. 21, 2012, is said to be the end of the Mayan calendar and has spawned everything from terrible end-of-days movies to the decision to close an Argentine mountaintop to prevent the spiritually sensitive from throwing themselves off of it in advance of the apocalypse. But as this image shows, midnight has come (and presumably gone) in New Zealand, and the clock went right on ticking. [Source]
