Government steps in to reassure idiots freaked out by Mayan apocalypse

12/4/2012

Days after NASA assuaged the fears of the masses of citizens who are apparently so gripped with terror about the world ending on Dec. 21 that they've been sending the space agency thousands of letters and contemplating suicide, the US government has now issued a reassuring blog titled, "Scary Rumors about the World Ending in 2012 Are Just Rumors." In a tone that appears to be as straight-faced as possible given the subject matter, the piece explains away any concerns about the upcoming date, clarifying that rumors of the Mayan calendar ending, a catastrophic comet striking, or a hidden planet colliding, are all false. Yeah ... what was that study we just read about humans getting dumber? [Source]
