No fair! Why does France get McDonald's bagel burgers and not us?

It pains us to think one of the most American breads — the bagel — would be used for burgers in French McDonald's. Yup, McDonald’s France will soon feature a "Bagel Stories" campaign offering a choice of cheese, red onion, or bacon burgers with seeded or regular bagels for buns (and presumably a little story? Maybe a McDonald’s worker will crouch by the eater and whisper it in their ear as they chew?). We’re flabbergasted these bagel burgers haven’t been offered in the states. The most American food made with the most American ingredients not available in America?
