Australian McDonald's to thwart thieves with weird DNA code spray
1/12/2013Cops in Sydney, Australia, are getting crazy and going futuristic after a spate of robberies at McDonald’s restaurants there over the holidays. To combat the rising crime, police have implemented a new "Intruder Spray system" by a firm called SelectaDNA, which sprays a "non-toxic solution with DNA code" on would-be thieves as they exit McDonald’s stores. Just what, exactly, is said spray stuff? Welp, apparently it "contains a UV tracer and a unique DNA code" that links people to the potential crime scene. The bizarre new system will be used at MickeyD’s across Sydney after a successful trial last year in six shops. [Source]
