This McDonald's tell-all video explains why: Everything from the way the steam trapped in the box collapses the bun to the photo manipulation that makes burgers look blemish-free. Fresh-faced McDonald's Director of Marketing in Canada, Hope Bagozzi, assures us that all the ingredients used for the photo are the real deal, and while aesthetes among us might prefer a tidier burger, we all have to admit that we're pleased when that slapped-together sandwich arrives in under a minute.
