Teen's petition leads to gender-neutral Easy-Bake Oven
12/18/2012McKenna Pope just wanted to let her little brother to know that there was nothing wrong with his love of baking. The 13-year-old New Jersey girl captured hearts by starting a petition on Change.org lobbying Hasbro for a gender-neutral Easy-Bake Oven after her four-year-old brother asked Santa for one. Now, Hasbro said it is set to unveil its new oven — one that comes in a neutral black, silver and blue palette rather than pink or purple. The company showed a prototype it had been working on for the past 18 months to McKenna and her family, which got an “awesome” rating from her bro. [Source]
