If you absolutely must meet up with an ex and don't want to incur the wrath of your current partner, have a coffee, not a sandwich. According to researchers at Cornell University, N.Y., sharing a meal with an ex is much more threatening than a double frappuccino. A survey asked respondents to highlight which hour-long activity between their partner and the partner’s ex they would find most threatening, ranging from email and phone calls through morning and afternoon coffees, to a late-afternoon meal or dinner. Both genders of the undergraduate sample were least threatened by email, with the majority saying they’d be most jealous if their partner had dinner with an ex.
