Meat Loaf blames TV rejection on his Republican views

3/14/2012

He would do anything for love -- except vote for Obama. Cheesy '70s rock icon Michael Lee Aday (better known as Meat Loaf), performing on this evening's "Tonight Show With Jay Leno," tells Esquire he's been "banned from two TV shows" because of his political views. "USA Today has me listed as a Republican," he says, agreeing that he'd heard shows don't want Republicans, "But I didn't really believe they'd do that." Cynics might suspect that Mr. Loaf is manufacturing political controversy to angle for a judge's slot on "The Voice." "Rocky Horror" star, "Celebrity Apprentice" contestant AND a swiveling seat next to Christina Aguilera? Well, two out of three ain't bad.
