Meat Loaf starts legal beef with Meat Loaf tribute act

7/23/2012

Dean Torkington has spent the past 16 years touring as a Meat Loaf tribute act, but now he's being sued by the real Meat Loaf not for what he does onstage, but what he's done online.  According to Torkington, the Original Recipe Loaf filed a $100,000 lawsuit against him for "cybersquatting" and being an "online impostor," charges stemming from Torkington's website, meatloaf.org  Meat Loaf, whose real name is Michael Aday, wants Torkington to surrender the site; Torkington's response is essentially "I'd do anything for 'Loaf, but I won't do that."  Besides, after dropping over 150 pounds, Torkington says he's better off as an Elton John impersonator anyway. "It's less hassle than being a Meat Loaf tribute act anyway," he said. [Source]
