Meet the guy who snaps up all the good Internet domains
4/23/2012As the real estate baron to the Wild West of the Web, Mike Mann bought 14,962 domains in 24 hours this week as part of domain-flipping self-employment that nets him $400,000 annually. A hustler through and through, Mann said of himself, "I want to own the world." He got his start when someone offered him $50,000 for a domain he had bought for $70, and since then, he's studied domain buying patterns to get find high-value targets. "It's a huge pain in the ass," he admitted. This week's binge set him back $100,000, but it'll cost you more, of course, to buy them back.
