This guy trying to explain static electricity is in for a shock
1/6/2013It was encouraging to learn that static electricity could possibly be harnessed to power smartphones, but until then, those nasty little shocks will remain just a daily annoyance (unlike the monthly shock of the electric bill). So it's fortunate that Mehdi Sadaghdar took to YouTube to explain the ins and outs of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and take the hits so you don't have to. You can almost feel his pain, but not so much that it doesn't make you laugh. Sadaghdar insisted he tried not to shock himself in making the video, but his many fans wanted more. "Up next," wrote one commenter, "Mehdi shows you how to use a table saw."
