Australian royal prank DJs reveal torment over nurse suicide
12/10/2012The DJs behind the prank call to the London hospital where Kate Middleton was being treated have made a tearful apology on Australian TV. Mel Greig and Michael Christian gave two interviews on Sunday night to express their sadness that nurse Jacintha Saldanha had taken her own life just days after the 2Day FM hosts had fooled her into believing they were members of the royal family calling to inquire about Kate's condition. Christian said he was "Gutted. Shattered. Heartbroken," by what had happened, while Greig said she felt "very sorry and saddened for the family" and that "this wasn't meant to happen." Both DJs remain suspended by the radio station; the radio station's parent company has also canceled their show and called for a "company-wide suspension" on all prank calls. [Source]
