We're screwed: Australia and Canada have most livable cities

8/16/2012

How come Australia always gets to have nice things? For the second year in a row, Melbourne was ranked the most livable city in the world in a survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, because people can really live there, you know, man? Australia and Canada claim the lion’s share of the top 10 urban locales, which include Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary. Other favorites on the list: Vienna, Helsinki and Auckland. Big-name cities such as New York don’t tend to score well as they are, to paraphrase, clogged-up, crime-ridden filth holes. Looks like it’s time to move Down Under or up north. [Source]
