Memorial cruise runs into bad luck retracing Titanic's course
4/15/2012The passengers of the Balmoral's Titanic Memorial Cruise paid big money to eat the foods, wear the clothes, hear the music and retrace the route of the doomed Titanic's maiden voyage on its centennial anniversary. But the Balmoral has had to twice abandon its apparently still ill-fated course, first to delay for choppy waters, and then for a rescue airlift of a seriously ill passenger. The ship detoured to the Irish coast so a BBC cameraman could get medical attention, but now determined passengers (many of whom are relatives of Titanic victims and survivors) are back on track, and plan on holding a memorial service over the spot where the Titanic sank in the early hours of the morning on April 15, 1912.
