C-section live-streamed on Twitter might have been TMI

2/21/2013

Video cameras in the delivery room are so passé — unless you're live-streaming the birth on Twitter. That's exactly what Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston did Wednesday, delivering 140-character play-by-plays as doctors delivered a 6-pound, 1-ounce baby via cesarean section. (No, he's not named Hashtag, as far as we know.) Every gory detail was captured on a GoPro camera worn by Dr. Amelia Chu. If you had ever wanted to see a placenta pulled from a mom's tummy, let alone a screaming baby, this was the place to be. This isn't the first time the hospital has tweeted an operation complete with micro-mini medical lessons: Last year, docs treated us to front-row seats for a brain operation and open-heart surgery. [Source]
